Important information: Since the final releases of Business Partner and Attaché Catapult in May 2007, new features and enhancements including updates to Attaché Payroll due to legislative changes, are available only in Attaché 7. This means that Business Partner and Attaché Catapult are no longer suitable for creating and submitting self-print payment summaries and your magnetic media file may be rejected. Talk to your consultant or contact us about moving to Attaché 7.

The tax scales for 2008/09 are now available for download. These tax scales are dated 1st July 2008 and should not be used before that date.
If you have Attaché 7, version 7.01.000 (March 2008) or later, the quickest and most convenient way to download the tax scales is via the Attaché 7 menu (Setups | Payroll | Tax Scales | Download Tax Scales from Web). Alternatively, you can download the tax scales manually by following the steps below, regardless of which version of Attaché 7 you are using.
Important information about tax scales for employees on SFSS (Student Financial Supplement Scheme):
In the 2008/09 Australian tax scales, the addition of extra lines for Low Income Tax Offset has made it necessary to split the SFSS tax scales for Tax Scales 2, 6 and 7 into two separate scales. After installing the 2008/09 Australian tax scales, you will need to change the Tax Scale setting for employees who are on the SFSS and have a weekly income greater than $982. The new setting applies to employees on SFSS only — employees on HELP or on SFSS plus HELP are not affected as these tax scales are already split.
In the Tax Scale field in the employee masterfile, select the appropriate tax scale code based on the employee's weekly pay level:
• weekly income up to $982: use existing tax scale codes 2SFSS, 6SFSS or 7SFSS
• weekly income exceeds $982: select the new tax scale codes 2SFSSH, 6SFSSH or 7SFSSH
